Stories of 20th Century Life

A compilation of oral histories, undertaken in 1973 and 1974, to commemorate the Bicentennial, a volume of which was released in 1992. The publication project was edited by Oakes Plimpton, funded by the Arlington Arts Council, printed by Penobscot Press. Images were from Arlington Historical Society collections. The 176 page long book is now out of print with only a few copies remaining for sale at the Society. As a result, Plimpton has elected to reissue some of the interviews as smaller booklets for sale in print, and as free articles on the Society website. Some new photographs that were not in the Society collection in 1992 have been included.
